The Speaking Energy blog will be a serious — and sometimes seriously whimsical (depending on my mood) — look at this thing known as “public speaking”. As a public speaking practitioner who has coached executives, entrepreneurs, educators and artists from over 30 countries and counting, I’m trying to replace the word ‘public’ with ‘human’. Human Speaking just makes a lot more sense. I mean,what feels ‘public’ about something so private or personal as speaking in front of a group? Whether we have an audience of one or one million in front of us, it’s humans that do the speaking — most of the time, anyway — so let’s call it like it is.
